Terms of Service

These Terms set out the rules for using Syncally — for customers looking for local help, and for the businesses and independent providers who answer them.

Effective date: August 26, 2026

These Terms are written for Syncally in plain English, but they are not legal advice. They should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel for your jurisdiction before being treated as final, binding legal terms.

1.What Syncally is

Syncally is a local discovery and marketplace platform. It helps customers find nearby businesses and independent service providers, and it helps those businesses be discovered, receive customer requests and respond to them.

We provide the platform: listings, search, maps, requests, messaging, reviews and business tools. We do not perform the services that businesses offer, and unless a specific transaction says otherwise, we are not the party delivering the service you hire. By using Syncally you agree to these Terms.

2.User accounts

  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date, including your name, email address and phone number.
  • One person or business should hold one account. Creating extra accounts to evade limits, restrictions or suspensions is not allowed.
  • Keep your password and verification codes private, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.
  • Do not impersonate another person, business, brand or Syncally staff.
  • Do not create fake, automated or fraudulent accounts.

You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live.

3.Business accounts

If you list a business on Syncally, you confirm that you are authorised to represent it, and that the information you publish is accurate — including:

  • Business identity and ownership
  • Services you actually provide
  • Service areas you actually cover
  • Contact details that reach you
  • Any credentials, licences, certifications or insurance you claim to hold, where applicable

Syncally does not guarantee that any business on the platform is licensed, insured or qualified. A credential is only treated as checked when that specific business has been verified for that specific credential, and we say so on the listing. Displaying a licence number is a statement by the business, not by us.

4.Verification and security checks

To keep the marketplace usable, we may apply reasonable checks, including:

  • Email verification
  • Phone verification
  • Identity verification
  • Business or credential verification
  • Automated fraud and abuse detection
  • Duplicate-account detection
  • Other reasonable security measures

Verification reduces risk; it does not guarantee that a business or customer is trustworthy, competent, licensed or honest. Always use your own judgement, ask for documentation where it matters, and confirm details directly with the other party.

5.Customer requests

When you post a request, it must be a genuine request for work you actually want done. You must not use requests for:

  • Spam or advertising
  • Fake or test requests
  • Duplicate requests intended to pressure or manipulate businesses
  • Fraud or illegal activity
  • Misleading information about the job, budget or location
  • Harassment or abuse of a business or its staff
  • Attempts to collect sensitive information such as banking details or identity documents
  • Anything unrelated to the service category you selected

We may edit, restrict, remove or suspend requests and accounts that break these rules, and we may limit how many requests an account can post.

6.Business responses

If you respond to a customer request, respond honestly and professionally. You must not:

  • Send fake quotes, bait pricing or prices you do not intend to honour
  • Misrepresent your business, experience, credentials or availability
  • Send spam, mass messages or unrelated marketing
  • Harass, pressure or abuse customers
  • Commit fraud or attempt to obtain payment outside an agreed job
  • Circumvent platform safeguards, limits or fees
  • Solicit, trade or manipulate reviews

7.Reviews and ratings

Reviews exist so people can share genuine experiences. A review must reflect a real interaction with the business. The following are prohibited:

  • Fake reviews, or reviews of a business you have not dealt with
  • Paid, incentivised or otherwise manipulated reviews
  • Reviews written by competitors or about competitors
  • Coordinated review campaigns, vote manipulation or fake review removal services
  • Pressuring, threatening or retaliating against a customer over a review
  • Illegal content, hate speech, personal information or content unrelated to the service

We may remove reviews that break these rules, and we may restrict review activity on an account we believe is being manipulated. We do not remove a review simply because a business disagrees with it.

8.Payments, subscriptions and fees

Browsing, searching and posting requests are free for customers. Businesses may pay subscription or placement fees for listings, advertising or premium features, at the prices shown when you sign up. Prices, plans and included features can change; we will show the current terms before you buy, and changes to a recurring plan apply from your next billing period.

Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider and are subject to their terms. Unless a specific transaction on Syncally states otherwise, we are not the party providing the underlying service between a customer and a business, and payment for that service is arranged directly between them. Where a subscription is cancelled, access continues to the end of the paid period unless we say otherwise.

9.The relationship between customers and businesses

Syncally facilitates discovery and communication. When a customer and a business agree to work together, that agreement is between them, and Syncally does not automatically become a party to it.

Businesses are responsible for their own services, pricing, quotes, availability, scheduling, licensing, insurance, staff, workmanship, warranties, tax and compliance with applicable law. Customers are responsible for deciding who to hire, checking credentials that matter to them and agreeing terms directly with the business.

10.Prohibited activities

You must not use Syncally to do any of the following:

  • Fraud, scams, phishing or deceptive schemes of any kind
  • Spam, bulk unsolicited messaging or bulk listing creation
  • Bots, automated account creation, or automated interaction with the platform
  • Scraping, crawling, bulk copying or reselling listing or user data
  • Fake accounts, or multiple accounts used abusively
  • Any illegal activity, or offering services you are not legally allowed to offer
  • Uploading malware, or attempting to interfere with the platform's operation
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, discrimination or abuse of any person
  • Circumventing rate limits, suspensions, verification, fees or other platform controls
  • Manipulating requests, quotes, rankings, reviews or metrics
  • Unauthorised access to accounts, data, systems or non-public areas of the platform
  • Reverse engineering the platform except where the law expressly allows it

11.Your content

You keep ownership of the content you upload — text, photos, logos and other media. By uploading it, you give Syncally a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, resize and display it in order to operate and promote the platform, and you confirm you have the rights to the content you upload. You are responsible for what you publish. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the law.

12.Suspension and termination

We may restrict, suspend or terminate an account, listing, request or review — with or without notice where the situation calls for it — if we reasonably believe there is a breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, a security risk, a legal requirement or a risk of harm to other users.

You may stop using Syncally or ask us to close your account at any time through the Contact & Support Center. Where an account is suspended in error, contact us and we will review it.

13.Disclaimer

Syncally is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee:

  • The quality, conduct, reliability or honesty of any business or customer
  • That a business is licensed, insured, certified or qualified
  • The availability, pricing, scheduling or completion of any service
  • Any particular result, outcome or number of leads, requests or customers
  • That every listing, photo, review, map location or detail is accurate or current
  • That the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of security incidents

Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

14.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Syncally is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost business opportunities or damage to reputation, arising from your use of the platform.

We are also not liable for the acts, omissions, work, pricing or conduct of any business or customer you find through Syncally, or for disputes between them. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or CAD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. In that case our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law allows.

15.Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform develops or as the law requires. We publish the updated version here with a new effective date, and we notify account holders about material changes. If you keep using Syncally after an update takes effect, the updated Terms apply to you.

16.Contacting us

Questions about these Terms, a suspension, a listing dispute or a report of abuse go through the Contact & Support Center. Tickets are tracked so you can follow up on the same issue rather than starting over.
